Multiple State Licensing QuestionRating: (votes: 0) I live right on the border of PA and NJ, and about only 1.5 hours from NY. Should I get licensing for all three states right off the bat? I'm going to hope somewhere along the line of school this will become more clear. I'm planning on going right into grad school for Nurse-Midwifery and the grad schools I'm looking at are in all three states. So that is another part of the equation. Does anyone know if the midwifery license is the same way as the RN license? Will I need to get and maintain a midwifery and a RN license in each state that I may work in? All professional licenses in the US are state-specific. Regulation of professional licenses is a Constitutional power reserved to the states, so this cannot be changed without a Constitutional amendment. . . not likely to happen. |
