Nursing vs. Social Work (eeek!) HeLPP!Rating: (votes: 0) If I do decide to go back and receive a second bachelors...I want to pursue a career as a psychiatric nurse! Help! Once again are there any professionals that hold both titles bsw and rn?? Medical social work - Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaYou could get a MSW and become a Medical Social Worker. Comment: I was a social worker for 5 years before going back to get my nursing degree. I love social work and worked with child protection as a foster care worker(and some investigations). I LOVED it, but I love nursing more. And the pay for nursing is better.Comment: I was a social worker and did medical case management. Look into hospitals, counties, the VA, etc... You're too close to graduating right now to change things up. I was hired as a new grad nurse because of my case management background. Build up some experience and then use it to your advantage if you decide to go back for nursingComment: Finish up you bsw.enoll in a msw program. It will only take you one year because of you have a bsw. And then go to nursing school if you still have that urge. No need to stop now ur almost finish
