Returning to the states and back to nursing after 3 years...ADVICE pleaseRating: (votes: 0) I am not sure if I should go straight to a nursing review program or something like that. Plus, it doesn't help that we will be moving to China Lake, CA. There is not much around there, unless it's about an hour or more away. I need to return to work for my own sanity and to help support my family. I lost my sense of self and my independence when I wasn't working as a nurse anymore. Besides being worried about finding a job after being out of nursing for 3 years...I am nervous about the actual working as a nurse again. While I was volunteering I felt some things coming back to me, but for me nursing is not quite like riding a bike. I am hoping for some advice and suggestions on how to approach this situation. Please share with me! Thanks Jenn I think a refresher course is in order. Look on your BON's website to find an approved course. A good one will help you feel comfortable again. Is your CPR up to date? Definitely add the volunteer work at the Navy hospital to your resume. Comment: Thank you for the quick response Yes, my CPR is up to date. That is my thought too. I feel like I need it, as well as showing employers I am motivated.
