I hate bedside nursing want to work for department of health

First Post! hello everyone. I am an RN and have been working on a med surg floor for a year and i hate it! I want to work for the health department but idk how to go about that. I got info from an insider that there are opening in a near by counties health department but the opening are not listed on the site. she herself got it through a recruiter. Should I just go to the clinic and give my resume?
Some states have "job boards" on the Internet. Try going to the state webpage for the dept of health and look for a link.
Most health departments, local or state would post their job listing on their website. I have seen some smaller ones who don't post specific jobs but list a phone number or an email address for the HR person you can contact. If you don't see anything on the website I would call the health department you are interested and speak to HR. Good luck!
