Hi I just accepted a part time job with company A. however I just interviewed the other day with company B and am waiting to hear back from them for a full time position. If company B offers me the full time position is it OK to decline job A after I already accepted job A to go to job B Which is full time?
What would be the major difference in each position that you would want the full time position? If that is something you want to do, then by all means, you can state you found a full time position and that was what you were looking for...just remember to give enough notice; if you are not starting the job, you can state you have found another job; it won't be the first time that a person has declined an offer after accepting it; things happen. *shrugs*

They are both basically the same job. Nursing home charge nurse for night shift. However job b is more hours which I need. I just wonder if it's unprofessional to accept and then quit before I even started.

It sucks for them, but as Lady said you wouldn't be the first person to do it, just let them know asap.

Quote from VANurse2010I wouldn't worry so much about "professionalism" in this context. You're looking to push a cart on night shift, not be the CEO of the company. It is perfectly acceptable to decline an offer after accepting; just state honestly that you have found a full time position that better suits your needs at this time.

Quote from kbrn2002Well, there is a lot more to the job than "pushing a med cart on night shift," other than that I agree with you 100%
