Gift ideas for nursing staff?

I am a brand new CNA and want to give something to the nursing staff for all their hard work and for training me on orientation week. A lot of the nurses and CNA's are working doubles because we are understaffed and the new employees are still on orientation.

Anyone have good ideas for gifts for the nursing staff on my unit? I'm thinking of buying them cookies and cupcakes.

Thanks for your help.
Bring in Dunkin' Donuts for the break room.

Dunkin' Donuts is the best idea ever. I freaking love their donuts. And pick up a pound of coffee for the coffee pot, too.

Perhaps something healthier? ... like one of those bouquets of fruit and berries?

Some decent pens, or perhaps pocket planners to write their schedules in.

Bagels! Bagels ALWAYS go over well and aren't as unhealthy as donuts.

That is so sweet of you to think of your co-workers like that. I know that they will love and appreciate whatever you get them!I would definitely say get them some good coffee or tea so they have the option. Instead of doughnuts you could always bring in a crock pot of chili or something and that way people can have lunch or dinner. You could also bring in a fruit dish if you wanted.

It sounds very nice of you... and I do not mean any disrespect. But as an aide I would get them something small. I've always felt aids work way to hard and are way under paid. I always buy them dinner when we order out... idk thats me. Any nurse who trained you will appreciate you for the hard work... Dunkins is always nice tho :-D

Order pizza and wings for each shift, with a small cake that says thanks for your hard work.

I can't speak specifically to nursing staffs, but I used to bake seasonal things (like blueberry zucchini bread or pumpkin cookies) for my coworkers. I still do so for my husband's coworkers now while I'm in school. If you like cooking or baking, bringing something homemade always seems to go over well. If not, buying something like doughnuts or a fruit plate with dip usually works too. Maybe you could check in with your coworkers and get suggestions? That might give you a heads up on any food-related issues for staff members (like people who have problems with really sugary foods or foods with nuts, etc.). I think it's really thoughtful of you to think of doing such a thing, and I'll bet your coworkers will think so too - no matter what you bring!
