Behavioral interview questions specific to nurses:

Rating:
(votes: 0)

I had my initial interviews back when I graduated college and was looking for nursing jobs. Had 4 interviews, 3 job offers. Looking back, I could have done better. I had never done behavioral interviews before.

I do not currently have another interview lined up, but am looking at that possibility. From doing research on this site, i'm gathering I should have a few specific situations in mind that I can talk about to show critical thinking, quick thinking, working in difficult situations, etc. I know not to be general, but to be specific.

I am trying to be prepared-
what are some nursing specific behavioral interview questions you have experienced yourself?

Most websites out there have more general questions, not necessarily nursing specific.

Thanks!
" am trying to be prepared-what are some nursing specific behavioral interview questions you have experienced yourself? How do you deal with a verbally abusive physician when you are correctly questioning an order and he says "just do what I tell you to. I'm the doctor!"

One recent question I had was: "Give me an example of a situation in which you got some constructive criticism and tell me how you used it."

i was once asked: "what was the biggest mistake you've made in your nsg career; and how did you rectify it?"my response: " hmmmm, i've made so many. i need to think about this. "DO NOT USE THIS RESPONSE. leslie
