Professional Nursing Organizations

Hi everyone! Ok this is what im lookin for. I am a senior student at my local community college. I am in the Associate degree program. My school is not part of any professional nursing organizations, and I decided to take it upon myself to look into getting a chapter at our school. I have done a little digging around the web and it seems that all the fraternity anf honor societies require a bachellors level program. Does anyone know of or is part of a program that accepts associate degree students? My fellow students are interested in doing dome volunteer and community service. We would also like to add a little weight to program in the local community. Thanks in advace for any and all information.

Have you considered starting a local chapter of the NSNA? A number of years ago, I was the faculty advisor to the chapter in the ADN program in which I taught, and the students found it a really enjoyable and worthwhile experience.http://www.nsna.org/Membership.aspx

I am a board member of the CNSA (Canadian Nursing Students Association), and we enjoy a good relationship with NSNA. They would be an excellent organization to join with a local chapter. If their conferences are anything like ours, it will give you a chance to network both with other schools across the nation, and with your own community's leadership as well.
