Effective tax rate.

I know this will get moved to central, but I'm putting it here to get traffic and just to see what everyone else's "effective tax rate" for federal taxes was in 2010, if you choose to participate.

Reason? There's a lot of talk about people who get free healthcare and such, and that everyone else is, apparently, paying their fair share. I'm not so sure if I am even paying my fair share, although I follow the tax laws.

My effective tax rate in 2010, while being in the middle of the 25% tax bracket, was only 4%. One income, family of four.

If you use an online program (I use TurboTax), and you have the file on your computer, the effective tax rate is shown at the bottom of the first page of the file.

So, the discussion. What is a "fair share"?
