Nursing specialties outside of hospital/healthcare facility?Rating: (votes: 0) I am currently in my second to last semester of my ADN program. My instructor has asked me to give a presentation on nursing specialties that are not hospital based/ or bedside! I would like to get input from any of you that aren't bedside nurses as to what your specialty is and what your work entails. Anyone can run off a list of non-bedside specialties, but I really want to be informed, and in turn inform my classmates! Thanks in advance for the info ![]() I used to work in dialysis. It is outpatient, not hospital absed (although acute care dialysis rns do work in hospitals) Would you consider that bedside? You are still doing patient care, hooking them up to the dialysis machines, monitoring vitals, doing assessments. Watching their labs. It is 100% different than hospital nursing. People seem to either love it or hate it, there is no in between. Comment:
