Salaries..

I dont' want to seem like I'm all about the money, because I'm not!
I just want to get started in my life and move back to my home to live
while having a nice lump of money to spend.. maybe even put a downpayment
on a house.

I'm just wondering, where is the best area to get a job that pays nurses the
highest with the lowest standard of living? I want to be able to at least store 2000 USD/month into my bank account .. I'll be living really not comfortably for a few years but it'll be worth it!

Also, which type of nurses make the most? (and no I don't want to go through more school to become a Nurse Anast.)

If you really want to make some money consider working for an agency. They pay a lot. A nurse that is working on my unit said she worked agency just until she was able to build her a house (I have seen it, it is HUGE). She said she also does it couple of months before Christmas, so she can spend a lot of money. That nurse said she makes $26/hour working regularly, and $44 working for an agency. It is worth it if you don't mind constant hospital changes because you will most likely be assigned to different hospitals every few weeks.

Hospital float night shift pays the best. Of course, more senority pays more. I did float with 10years+ RN credit. $38.00/ hour. All the training, relocation bonus, sign on bonus(they might have stopped that now), great, great benies. Good organization. Treats you right. At least from what I have experienced. CA doesn't pay when you factor in standard of living. I did agency for many years. It was good pay for a low senority nurse. No real benefits though. I know many nurses who have found work with reputable companies. Sorry, don't know any personally though.
