Looking to begin career in another state than graduating from

I am currently in my last year as a nursing student in Oregon. I do not want to stay in Oregon after graduating, but would rather head to San Francisco, California once i'm done with school. That is my number one. I am even looking into Seattle, Washington as a back up.

The school that i'm attending allows some of their students to do their final semester/internship in another state as long as that state accepts students. California does not, but Washington does. I could get my internship in Washington probably, but would really much rather go to San Francisco!

If anyone has any advice on how to place yourself in the best possible position to transfer, i would greatly appreciate it!!
