Marked Pay Rate DifferenceRating: (votes: 2) I was wondering if anyone has gone through this and if so, how they dealt with it. I currently got hired with a company and was offered a pay rate that i felt was okay. However, I live in a area which is highly inflated and the cost of living is much much higher than most. I know if i joined a unionized organization that my rate would be approx 50 hr (which the other rns are getting) but I am getting 43 hr. Im fulltime and the other rn's are per diem but they offered a per diem my job (prior to my hire) at that rate. I am inexperienced in negotiating and now am in a sticky mess. I've been working for two weeks and my review is in 90 days. My manager and the other staff already say that the state of affairs in the working environment has drastically improved because of me. Would it be wise to re-negotiate my rate at my review? How would I go about doing so? Thanks for any comments in advance. |
