Two job offersRating: (votes: 0) Now, the problem is, I started applying other places because I couldn't wait that long sitting on my thumbs without a job. So I applied the other day at a local nursing home, and got a job offer the same day. Literally the next day, I got a phone call from the staffing agency telling me the fingerprints finally went through and I can start work. I apologized and told them that I already accepted another job, as I couldn't wait any longer. My roommate is telling me that was unprofessional, since I accepted the agency job. She said, at the very least, I should have notified them I was looking for other jobs while waiting for the fingerprints to process. I disagree. I think three weeks is ridiculous and they should have assumed I would look elsewhere. Was I unprofessional in how I handled the situation? Did they tell you there was a snag and a wait? If they did and you did this without saying anything to them, then yes, it's unprofessional. Comment:
After a week of waiting, I would have just been upfront and told them I was pursuing other options. Maybe that would've put a bee in their bonnet.
