Red zones and green zones in hospitals - general use of these terms

Hi all

I don't work in a hospital but I work in an Australian library at a college that offers nursing as well as other courses.

I am trying to help a client who is trying to find out what the red and green zones in hospitals are, and what sort of items/material/stuff would be found in them.

I tried Google and got a lot about the Green Zone in Baghdad, and also tried searching this forum, but could not find anything definite.

Could someone help out here? Thanks very much in advance, it would be deeply appreciated.

I'm in Melbourne never heard of it...... Possible that it is sterile / clean areas in theatres (OR) or areas where there is radiation or cytotoxic drugs being prepared. These are just guesses never heard of the expression.

I am in Canada and I have never heard the term.
